A maid working for a house cleaning company was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing from an elderly Clayton woman.
The victim’s family because suspicious several weeks ago about the maid, Sarah Lynn Runyon, 27, of W. Main Street, Clayton, allegedly stealing prescription medication from the woman. Prior to arriving for house cleaning work on April 2nd and May 7th the victim counted the number of pills in her pill bottle. After Runyon left, 20 pills were missing after each visit.
The family installed a hidden security camera and on May 21st allegedly caught Runyon going through the victim’s personal belongings but nothing was taken on that date.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has charged Runyon with trafficking in opium or heroin. She was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
According to her arrest report, Runyon is currently listed as unemployed.
