Man Accused Of Violently Attacking His Mother And Stepfather
CLAYTON – A 44 year-old man from Clayton is facing criminal charges after he allegedly assaulted his mother and stepfather so severely they had to be hospitalized.
Jason Matthew Pridgen was arrested after the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office was called to an active disturbance at the couples home on Powhatan Road, around 12:47pm Thursday, Feb. 6.

According to authorities, Pridgen allegedly pushed his 74 year-old mother to the floor then struck her in the head with a glass mug causing it to shatter. She sustained a severe laceration to her head.
Pridgen reportedly attacked his 75 year-old stepfather by pushing then striking him with a vacuum cleaner and television. He sustained a deep laceration.
Deputies arrested Jason Matthew Pridgen at the scene. He was charged with two felony counts of assault inflicting serious bodily injury, simple assault, domestic assault on a female, and violation of a domestic violence protective order.

You’re going to get old one day buddy… They don’t need to let you outta there they need to send you to get some help..
Time in General Population should teach this idiot a lesson. The County needs to make sure he gets charged and sat down for a hot minute. Imagine pushing your mother, a senior citizen down on the floor in a fit of acting a sorry fool and then also hitting her in the head with a mug, busting it and her head cut. That is intentional and should require additional charges and time to be served, handed out by the judge. The fact that two senior citizens in the home were both pushed and hit with items in the house causing lacerations, sounds like a person who may have drug issues, and perhaps didnt get money so just decides to have himself a violent tantrum. I don’t know this person but I know that behavior is almost always associated with such, but regardless, he needs to spend time behind bars, I don’t care if he was mad over burnt toast.
Jason is nothing but a piece of trash who deserves to be locked up for good! Bless his mama. I hope she is done with him for good!
Dumpster juice
I think this guy falls in the category of ANIMAL! Prayers for his mother and stepfather.
What a loser. I hope the parents are ok.
Sounds like he has a mental illness. If not he’s just a horrible human being. This is Bob.
It is called Demonic influence
I wish a speedy recovery . He’d left in a body bag if it been me. Lock him up they’ll take care of him.
Something serious wrong with that boy. He been leaving in a bag not cuffs it been me.
What a piece of trash. Looks like you are regular on mugshots. I hope you stay locked up for a while. Praying for your mom and step dad that they heal and wipe their hands of you.
What a piece of $#it. I don’t know the situation but wondering was this an adult child throwing a violent tantrum because of drug addiction and didn’t get money for drugs or prone to psychotic episodes? It’s horrific enough that he threw his mother to the ground but then to strike her head with a mug causing it to shatter and cut her head, then the stepfather hit with heavy items, knocked down probably while trying to protect his wife. God have mercy. I hope Johnston County makes serious and deals accordingly with this and a long jail stay in the General Population teaches him a life lesson he won’t ever forget. That’s your mama you stupid idiot; dang! Be a man and deal with yourself.
POS
Guessing my original comment was just “too mean.” I don’t see it posted. But in a nutshell: an extended stay in General Population’s house hopefully will teach a lesson never forgotten. I will say again – that’s your mama, you stupid idiot. Be a man, and go deal with yourself. Wow.
Should be charged with hate crime against a senior over 65 also which is a felony on its own
At 72, I can honestly say, I’ve never had a child in my home that considered striking a parent or grandparent, if so I wasn’t made aware of it. I know that because all my children and grandchildren are still alive. Parenting is the problem, granted the court system often leans toward protecting the child, that’s where you stand up and give them to the authority that knows more than you the parent. My house, my rules, stand up, do your job, you’ll never experience behavior like this. I recently told my daughter in law that was interceding on my sons behalf that parenting was a lifelong job and when he was exhibiting behavior that was not acceptable, I would reenforce the training he had previously received. I respected her opinion just as I expected her to do of mine. Problem solved.
No child brought up in my home would even consider raising a hand. Be a parent, not a friend.
I know the family involved. There are two sides to every story. I don’t doubt that Jason interaced violently with his mother and her husband. By the same token, I would not be surprised if there was some exaggeration in the way they described the incident to police. Jason needs to get off his over medication of prescription drugs and has also probably slipped back into some even worse habits. I hope he does serve some time and takes that as an opportnity to get clean and turn his life around.
