Man Arrested After Breaking Window, Nearly Hitting 5 Month Old Son

Clayton Police arrested a man after he allegedly broke a window during a heated argument with his girlfriend, sending broken glass toward his 5-month old son.

Officers were called to an apartment complex on Boling Street in Clayton last Wednesday around 10 p.m. after a woman called 911 about a domestic dispute.

Officers arrived and found 22-year-old Preston Louis Robinson arguing over money with the mother of his 5 month old child. During the course of speaking with officers, police say Robinson ran out, rounded the back of the apartment and picked up a large plastic container and hurled it through a large window. Shards of glass landed near an air mattress in the living room where the infant had been sleeping, but the child was not injured.

Robinson ran to a nearby gas station and shopping center, where officers were able to arrest him and take him to the magistrate’s office.

He was given a $15,000 bond and charged with damage to property, assault on a child under 12, and resisting arrest.
