Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Two Underage Girls At Church

A Benson man is being held under a $1 million bond after his arrest Sunday on multiple felony charges.

Jonathan David Young, 34, of Church Road, Benson is accused of sexually assaulting two female victims beginning when both juveniles were under age 13.  The alleged assaults occurred between 2003 and 2013.

In both cases the female juveniles said they met Jonathan Young through Firstborn Baptist Church, located at 10781 NC Highway 50 North, Benson.  According to Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell, the alleged sexual assaults occurred inside the church.

According to the church website, the Firstborn Baptist is also the home of Gateway Christian School.   It is unknown if the victims attended the school or were members of the church.
