A young man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught at a Smithfield hotel with a missing Clayton teenager.
On Jan. 10th, the 15 year-old girl disappeared from her Clayton home. She was reported missing the next day to Clayton Police. Her family told police she may have left over a dispute about the person she was dating.
On Jan. 16th, the missing girl was found by Smithfield Police at a hotel and returned to her family.
Police said they located 42.5 grams of marijuana in the hotel room. The person in the room with the missing girl, 17 year-old Justin Lahmar Collier of Whitley Oaks Court, Smithfield was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. Collier was given a $2,500 bond. Police did not disclose if Collier was the person the missing teen had been dating.
