Detectives have solved a car break-in on Interstate 40 in Johnston County. On May 26th, someone broke out a window to gain entry into a car abandoned alongside the interstate. The suspect then stole an Apple iPhone and $200 in cash.
After the theft was reported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, investigators determined the stolen phone had been pawned.
Christopher James Pearce, 28, of County Line Road, Angier was charged with three felony offenses, including breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, and conspiracy. Pearce was already in custody in the Harnett County Jail on unrelated charges when he was formally charged on Monday.
