Selma Police are asking for assistance locating a man who was shot while attempting to break into a home.
The incident happened around 2:05 am on January 1st.
Police said a handicapped man confined to a wheelchair shot and wounded a burglary suspect at his home on Elizabeth Street. The victim, Kendrick Kendrel Chrisp, 28, was badly wounded.
Chrisp was rushed to Wake Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery and survived. Chrisp was released from the hospital several weeks later before Selma Police could speak with him.
On Thursday, Police Captain R.L. Daniels said a warrant has been obtained for Chrisps’ arrest charging him with attempted breaking and entering. His last known address was in the 800 block of North Pollock Street.

Police said the handicapped man who shot Chrisp during the attempted burglary will not face any charges.
