Man Wanted For Crimes In Two Counties Arrested In Tennessee

A suspect wanted for crimes in Johnston and Wayne counties has been captured in Nashville, Tennessee.

Twenty-eight year-old Mark Alan Clark of Goldsboro was a suspect in the sexual assault of a 15 year-old girl in eastern Wayne County on February 26th.  On February 28th, Clark is believed to have broken into four vehicles on Little Creek Church Road outside of Clayton and also stealing a 2000 Ford pickup truck from one of the addresses.

On March 1st, police in Nashville, TN conducted a traffic stop on the stolen truck and reportedly found Clark behind the wheel.

Clark was extradited to North Carolina on Wednesday where he was charged with statutory rape by Wayne County authorities. Johnston deputies arrested Clark for breaking and entering 4 vehicles, larceny of a vehicle, and damage to property.

His total bail was set at $270,000. Clark is being housed in the Wayne County Jail
