During a chase, Terry allegedly tossed a gun out the car window. The weapon was later recovered.

Terry led officers on a pursuit into Wake County and while in Raleigh, a state trooper used the PIT maneuver to end the pursuit.

Terry was charged with multiple traffic offenses including fleeing to elude arrest. He was also charged with violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was held under a $60,250 bond on the traffic charges. He was held without bond on the domestic violence offense.
