Marijuana Found Inside Car Stopped On I-40

A Wake County man is facing several charges after being stopped by the Highway Patrol on Interstate 40 in Johnston County.  Around 2:00am Sunday, a state trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-40 near McGee’s Crossroads.

During the traffic stop the trooper reportedly found approximately 80 grams of suspected marijuana in the truck on the car.  The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to assist.

Xaviera Thaddeus McKoy, 27, of Raleigh was charged with speeding, reckless driving, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.  McKoy was given a $5,000 secured bond.
