A Smithfield couple was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police reportedly found marijuana growing inside their home.
Around 5:00pm, Smithfield Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a home in the 200 block of East Davis Street. Police Captain T.S. Choe said officers arrived and found Rose Marie Allen, 52, and Paul Hamilton Stanfield, 54, at the residence.
Inside the home, officers reportedly found two marijuana plants. One was two feet in height, the other about 10 inches. Both were seized by police. Once fully grown the plants would have had a potential street value of $3,000.
Allen and Hamilton were both charged with felony manufacturing marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Allen was given a $7,500 bond. Stanfield was given a $2,500 bond.
