Masks No Longer Required On Johnston County Public School Buses

The Johnston County Board of Education voted 5-to-1 to make masks optional on Johnston County Public Schools transportation at a virtual Special Session Meeting on Wednesday.

The CDC announced on February 25 that they no longer require the wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs.

Due to the Board of Education’s vote, Johnston County Public Schools will no longer require masks on school buses effective immediately.

Board member Kay Carroll voted against the change. Ronald Johnson was unable to attend the meeting.
