Goldsboro Mayor Chuck Allen submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday, June 15, citing health issues. His resignation is effective immediately.

Allen has been Goldsboro’s mayor since 2015, and a member of City Council since 1999. During his time in office, Allen was influential in such projects as the Highway 70 Bypass, the Bryan Multi-Sports Complex and the Center Street Streetscape Project.
