Medication Stolen From Johnston County EMS Station

Smithfield Police are investigating the theft of medication from the Johnston County EMS Station at 109 S. Fourth Street. The incident happened sometime between Thursday, June 24th and Friday, June 25th.

An EMS paramedic reported that personal prescription medication had been stolen while they were on duty. The medication had been left in a common area in the EMS building, according to Police Captain R. Sheppard.  


  1. Hmmmmmm. Not a whole lot of details in this article. I’m sure cameras are at the facility. Sounds like someone has a possible addiction that works ems? What was the medication? Opiates? Benzodiazepines? How do they know it was stolen and not misplaced?
