Meth Found During Traffic Stop

A Dunn man sentenced to 24 months probation in June following a drug conviction in Sampson County was arrested Wednesday morning during a traffic stop in southern Johnston County.

A Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on patrol on Highway 242 South of Benson and stopped a vehicle for a violation. The driver, 46 year-old Mickey Ray Yarboro, was reportedly found to have a small amount of suspected methamphetamines inside the vehicle. Yarboro allegedly claimed he had borrowed the vehicle and had no knowledge of any narcotics in the car.

Yarboro was charged with possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
