Two inmates in the Johnston County Jail are facing additional charges after a routine check of their cell reportedly uncovered a small bag of methamphetamines.
On March 3rd, jailors conducted a check of a cell occupied by 22 year-old Casey Faye Holt of Smithfield and 34 year-old Courtney Jaquelin Matthews of Salemburg and reportedly found the drugs.
Matthews has been in custody since December awaiting trial for her alleged involvement in the theft of a tractor trailer stolen from a Meadow farm field.
Holt was arrested on February 28th on felony probation violation charges.
With the added charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance in a prison or jail, Matthews bail was increased to $395,000. Holt’s bail was increased to $330,000.
