Meth-Making Items Seized During Traffic Stop

An investigation by Johnston County Sheriff’s Office narcotic agents resulted in the arrests of two people during a traffic stop. 

On Saturday, agents stopped a car on McLamb-Tart Road and reportedly seized numerous items inside the vehicle commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.  A small amount of suspected methamphetamine was also seized, authorities said.

Stewart Lavon McLeod, 36, of Iris Bryant Road, Dunn and Ashley Leigh Stuart, 28, of US Highway 701 South, Newton Grove were arrested on multiple drug violations. McLeod was held on a $235,000 secured bond. Stuart was incarcerated on a $225,000 secured bond.
