A 25 year-old woman was arrested on drug charges Friday during a license checkpoint on Hockaday Road just south of Four Oaks.
Around 10:00am, SAFE Team deputies were conducting a random checkpoint. One deputy began issuing a citation to the driver of a Dodge Charger for operating a vehicle without insurance. A routine check of the passenger in the car, Misty Michelle Stanley of the 1700 block of Highway 96 South, Four Oaks, indicated she was wanted for failing to appear in court for larceny of possession of drug paraphernalia.
While taking Stanley into custody on the warrants, a small container was located. Inside the container authorities said they allegedly found approximately one-half gram of methamphetamine.
Stanley was subsequently charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was given a $15,000 bond on the meth charge and a $2,000 bond on the failure to appear warrants.
