A Johnston County man is being held on a $300,000 secured bond after his arrest on methamphetamine trafficking charges. Raymond Neil Barefoot, 44, of Thornton Road, Newton Grove was arrested on Oct. 23rd following a search of his home by narcotics agents with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC Probation & Parole.
During the search authorities reportedly found 109 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his possession. The illegal narcotics had a potential street value of $10,900. Three grams of Xanax, digital scales and packing materials were also located and seized.
A second person, Jessica Leann Ryals, 31, of Suggs Road, Dunn was arrested after an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine was reportedly found in her vehicle.
Barefoot was charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a controlled substance and felony probation violation.
Ryals was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. She was held on a $20,000 secured bond.
