42-year-old Jennifer Maurice Fox of Clayton was arrested Saturday by Clayton Police for repeatedly stealing.
On Saturday, officers were called to the Clayton Walmart for possible shoplifting caught on surveillance video.
The woman and son had returned some items for cash when they first entered the Walmart. Video then showed the suspects load up a shopping cart with various grocery items, but they did not pay.
As they exited, the son distracted the greeter who checks for receipts and the woman pushed the car out the door. Store officials were able to stop the suspects outside the store.
The cart had 23 different items with a total value of $95.06.
Because of three active warrants out of Wake County and Cary for larceny, and 5 previous larceny convictions, Fox was arrested and charged with habitual larceny. Habitual larceny is at least 3 prior larceny convictions.
Her 19-year-old son, John Bass, was cited with Aiding and Abetting.
