A small amount of suspected crack cocaine was found during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Honeycutt Road in the Willow Spring community in western Johnston County. Around 11:15pm Friday, a SAFE Team deputy with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office stopped a moped for erratic driving and for having an expired registration.
A smoking pipe was allegedly found in the pants pocket of the operator, Richard Lawrence Catlett, 55, of Tranquil Lane, Willow Spring. Two grams of suspected crack cocaine was reportedly found in a clear bag next to where Catlett was standing.
Catlett was taken to the Johnston County Jail and given a $5,000 bond on a felony charge of possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.
