Mother, Son Arrested On Felony Charges

FOUR OAKS – A mother and her son were arrested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on felony charges. Donna Barefoot Quick, age 45, and Anthony Lamont Quick, age 26, of Lee-Johnson Road, Dunn, a southern Johnston County address, were arrested Friday, August 26 during a traffic stop.

Around 6:00am that morning, deputies responded to a larceny at a mechanic shop in the 14000 block of Raleigh Road near Four Oaks. The owner reported four catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles at the business.

An officer in the same area conducted a traffic stop a short time after the theft was reported and reportedly saw two catalytic converters in the vehicle. They were among the four stolen that same morning at the mechanic shop, authorities said.

Anthony Quick was charged with four felony counts of larceny of motor vehicle parts, one felony count of possession of stolen property, felony conspiracy, and possession of burglary tools. He was held under a $180,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.

Donna Quick was charged with felony possession of stolen property and felony accessory after the fact. She was jailed in lieu of a $50,000 secured bond.


  1. This is a sad situation.The mother is supposed to be a role model for her children, not in this case…Shame on her.Hope they get the help they need..
