What started out as a routine traffic stop for a taillight violation on a car ended with the arrest of the driver on numerous charges.
Around 10:15pm Friday, a Johnston County deputy was traveling on Highway 231 near Highway 96 and stopped a car for an equipment violation. Authorities said the driver initially gave a fake name but was eventually identified as Kristi Marie Robinson, 28, of Rice Road, Zebulon.
Robinson was wanted for failing to appear in court on three driving offenses. During a search of her car a small amount of suspected cocaine was reportedly found.
Robinson was subsequently charged with felony cocaine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. She was given a $10,000 bond on the drug offenses and an additional $300 bond on the failure to appear charges.
