Charges have been filed against a driver that authorities say struck a gas pump at a Princeton business then left the scene.
On November 1st around 7:00pm, a motorist reportedly backed their car into the fuel pump at Ormond’s Gas and Oil at 9610 Highway 70 East Business. The driver got out of her car, reportedly looked at the damage, got back into her vehicle and left the scene.
Johnston County deputies responded and took a report. Following an investigation, Jessica Nicole Pounds, 29, of Eugene Walker Lane, Princeton was arrested on November 6th and charged with failure to report an accident and hit and run – leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Pounds was released on a $2,500 bond. Authorities said the damage to the fuel pump was estimated at $2,500.
