A Smithfield teen was arrested Sunday a short time after he allegedly broke into two of his neighbors homes, including a couple who was worshiping at church.
Both break-ins occurred at Johnson’s Mobile Home Park on Highway 210 about four miles from Smithfield.
Ahmed Jameel Moore, 18, of Johnson’s Mobile Home Park, was caught by a deputy walking on Highway 210 near Galilee Road and charged with one of the break-ins.
A few hours later, a second resident returned home and discovered a break-in. Items found on Moore when he was initially arrested turned out to be stolen from the second break-in prior to it being reported.
A total of $475 in property was stolen from the homes. Deputies recovered $360 of the items.
Moore was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $110,000 bond.
