A 20 year-old Smithfield man was arrested Thursday night hours after police said he broke into the home of his elderly neighbor.
Around 6:00pm, an 84 year-old woman reported to Smithfield Police her home on N. 7th Street had been forcibly entered and two handguns and some prescription medication had been stolen.
With the assistance of Selma Police, Tyler Roy Oslerhoudt was located on E. Oak Street in Selma around 10:20pm and taken into custody. Oslerhoudt was charged by Smithfield Police with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony larceny of a firearm. He was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $60,000 bond.
Oslerhoudt is scheduled to make a first appearance in Johnston County Court on Friday.
