Additional charges have been filed against a suspect who had allegedly broken into the unoccupied home of an 82 year-old man on Cleveland Road near Highway 42 last month.
Robert Steven Carlin, of Piney Grove Road, Angier, was arrested Jan. 21st at the address. Carlin reportedly claimed he had knocked on the entry door and it opened. Officers said they found Carlin’s personal belongings inside the home, including empty beer cans and suspected heroin.
Following an ongoing investigation, Johnston County deputies said they learned the 41 year-old suspect had been selling items stolen from the home on social media, including a motorcycle he sold to an unsuspecting buyer he met at the address.
Carlin facing several felony charges including breaking and entering, larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, and obtaining property by false pretenses.
