    Benson, NC: Mr. Dennis Ray Hayes, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC. Mr. Mike Warren will officiate.

    Mr. Hayes was born on November 16, 1954 in Harnett County to the late Gilmer and Ellie Allen Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Lou Tart and Joyce Hayes Tart, brothers, Larry Allen Hayes and James Danny Hayes, and his mother and father-in-law, Billy and Bobbie Parrish.

    Dennis loved his Lord, was a faithful friend, and a hard worker. He was a devoted husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle and cousin. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heels fan, and loved NASCAR racing. Dennis was the backbone of Parrish Oil Company for over 30 years. For the last few years, Dennis was a driver with Dixie Denning Gas Company in Benson, NC.

    He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Carolyn Parrish Hayes, daughter, Amber Starr Hayes; sister, Janice H. Stevens; many loving nieces and nephews, and special pets, Gigi, Charlotte, and Ringo.

    Mr. Hayes will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book from 12:00PM-5:00PM, Friday, November 26, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Benson Fire Department, 313 S. Elm Street, Benson, NC 27504 or to the Johnston County Animal Shelter, 115 Shelter Way, Smithfield, NC 27577.

    In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines. Mask are required for the graveside service on Saturday.
