PRINCETON – Ethel Jackson Peedin age 87, died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Smithfield Manor Nursing Home. Born October 31, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Percy Philmore and Gertie Shirley Jackson, she was the widow of Noble Peedin. She was preceded in death by a brother Earldean Jackson and a sister Barbara J. Gillam. Ethel retired from the Phone Company as a supervisor after more than 40 years and worked with Belk’s in Smithfield for more than 15 years. She was a member of Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Sullivan and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial park at a later date with Rev. Terry Ellis officiating.
Surviving are her nephews, Larry Woolard (Rachael) Newport, Phil Woolard of Morehead City, Dean Jackson (Linda) of Creedmoor and Danny Jackson (Cheryll) of Bryant, AR; cousins, Rose Minshew of Four Oaks, Patsy Talton of Pikeville, Delores Kisendaffer of Lorton, VA and Wilbur Dean Shirley of Goldsboro and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 1809, Smithfield, NC 27577.
