Lawrence “Wildman” Goodman Rouse of Selma, NC passed away peacefully at his home January 14, 2021 at the age of 63.
He is survived by his two daughters, April Brantley of Selma, NC, Ginnie Rouse of Selma, NC, and a son David Rouse of Hurdle Mills, NC. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia Parrish Rouse, and his mother, Martha Rouse Kirby.
Lawrence was born February 15, 1957 in Raleigh, NC to the late Martha Lou Rouse (Kirby). He grew up in Raleigh, NC where he began his career at Earp’s Seafood. He soon began driving trucks where he earned the nickname “Wildman” and became widely known. In 1984 he met the love of his life, Cynthia, and started a family. For a long time he owned his own log trucking business, but eventually ended that to drive trucks for D and J Logging. He loved what he did and even took his daughters out on adventures with him. Lawrence was always either driving a truck or tinkering on a truck and never met a stranger. In his spare time, which was super rare, he enjoyed watching an array of sports as well as his favorite westerns.
The family will hold a visitation at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021 followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00am at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, NC.
In light of current COVID-19 concerns, the family respectfully requests that you honor social distancing and safety policies during the service and the visit, including wearing masks.
