Mattie Rose Worley

    Mattie Rose Mozingo Worley, 93, of Princeton, NC passed away September 5, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC with her family by her side. She was born in Johnston County on February 20, 1927, the daughter of the late John Walter and Mattie Batten Mozingo. She was the widow of Earl Williamson Worley, Sr. and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Worley Rhodes; sister, Audrey M. Worley; brothers, Roy B. Mozingo, Paul Mozingo, Ernest Mozingo, and Clyde Mozingo.

    Mrs. Worley was a past member of the Oakland Home Demonstration Club and was a member for 50 plus years of the Oakland Friends Church. In recent years, she returned to her Baptist roots and joined the Princeton Baptist Church and attended there as long as her health allowed.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 12:00 noon, at the Princeton Baptist Church with the Reverends Dwayne Batten and Matthew Cornett officiating. Interment will follow at the Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations. At other times, the family will be at Mrs. Worley’s home, 959 Princeton Rd, Princeton, NC.

    Mrs. Worley is survived by a son, Earl W. Worley, Jr. and Melissa of Princeton; a daughter, Dianne W. Grantham and John of Grantham; a son-in-law, Gary Rhodes of Princeton; grandchildren, Brad Rhodes and Melissa, Amanda Barwick and Brad, Michael H. Rhodes and Sarah, Hannah Grantham Wright and P.J., Julia Beth Worley Craig and Drew, John Cullen Grantham, and Earl W. “Will” Worley, III; 6 great grandchildren, Ava Capri Rhodes, Bradley Carson Barwick, Gabrielle Rhodes, Makayla Bonnie Rhodes, Paityn Grace Barwick, and Sophie Anne Rhodes.

    Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests contributions be made to 3HC Hospice Care, 2402 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534; Princeton Baptist Church, PO Box 215, Princeton, NC 27569; or the University of Mount Olive, 634 Henderson St., Mount Olive, NC 28365.
