Teresa Elizabeth Allen

    Birth Date: 06/10/1959
    Deceased Date: 07/15/2024

Teresa Elizabeth Allen (Brown), known affectionately as Terri, passed away on July 15, 2024, in her home in Benson, NC, at the age of 65. She was born on June 10, 1959, in Smithfield, NC to Patricia and Jesse Brown. She was the youngest of 3 girls.

She was an amazing woman, friend, sister, daughter, and mother. She lived her life on her own terms and always took others’ needs into account above her own.

She received her Associates degree in Business in 1999 while working and raising two children. She worked for over 20 years in assisted living homes as an Administrator. She sometimes had up to 150 residents and knew them and their life stories by heart. There was nothing she wouldn’t do down to sweeping floors, giving showers, or cooking for the residents to make sure that her people were taken care of. She showed her family what it was to look after and love others unconditionally.

Much of her time outside of work was spent with her family going to the beach, the movies, or just talking over dinner and wine. She was the life of the party and knew how to make you laugh. However, she was always willing to listen without judgment should you need it, and she would be the one you could count on to drop everything without question.

She loved her grandchildren and was always there for big and small events. Her love was felt in the strength of her hugs and her playfulness was felt in the tickling of their bellies.

Terri is survived by her father Jesse Brown of Morehead City, her sister Cynthia Teasdale and husband, Walt of New Bern; her daughter Bridget Sisler and husband, Matt of Holly Springs; her daughter Brandy Bland of Four Oaks, her former spouse Glenn Allen of Benson, her current partner Danny Littner of Elizabethtown, her grandchildren Lee Bland, Rylee Bland, Eleanor Sisler, Maggie Sisler, and George Sisler, along with several nieces and nephews, and her loving little dog Harley.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Brown, sister Jessica McGee, and niece Christy Lane.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, NC on Thursday, July 18th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am.
