    Selma – Charles Ray Rose, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born February 26, 1940, a son of the late Howard and Virginia Rose in Sampson County. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Odes Graham Rose and Donald Earl Rose.

    He graduated from Selma High School and worked at Faye’s Sandwich Co., Carolina Packers Inc. and served as a security guard at Fieldcrest Mills. During his life he enjoyed coin collecting, taking vacations in the mountains, watching Alabama Crimson Tide football games, NY Yankees baseball, and western movies, especially those starring John Wayne.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in Micro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

    He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mrs. Alma Bynum Rose, son Jimmy Ray Rose of Clayton, daughter, Donna Lynn Toler (husband Keith) of Smithfield, sister, Brenda Sue Llyod of Princeton, grandchildren, Christopher Toler of High Point and Zachary Toler of VA, nephews, Mike, Pete, and Rex Rose, great nephew, Timmy Rose, and great niece, Samantha Dillon.
