Coats, NC: Mr. Elton Stewart, age 91, of 6514 NC 27 East passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence surrounded by friends and family. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Revs. Bennie Smith and Tony Thompson. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
Mr. Stewart was born in Harnett County to the late Willie and Florence Parrish Stewart. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Clayton Stewart, Liston Stewart; Avie Lewis, Lottie Mae Creech and Tyson Stewart. Mr. Stewart owned and operated Elton Stewart’s Construction for over 60 years and attended Gift Primitive Baptist Church in Coats.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Vonnie Allen Stewart; children, Donald Ray Stewart and wife, Chris of Coats, Ann Stewart Weaver and husband, Kenneth of Angier, Elton Stewart, Jr. “Rattler” and wife, Tammy of Dunn; step-children, Charlene West Ray and husband, Andy of Garner; and Tony Ray West of Coats; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:45PM Sunday prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home.
