Phyllis Ann Reliford, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on November 9th, 2020. She was born March 17th, 1945 in Fayetteville, NC to mother Pearl G. Sykes (deceased) and Dallas W. Capps (deceased). She was married to Richard L. Reliford for 17 years and had two children, Phyllis Shannon Reliford of Smithfield and Richard L Reliford, Jr. and wife Tonya of Princeton.
She lived in Smithfield for most of her life and worked in manufacturing until she began being a caregiver. She was very passionate about her caregiving job. She became part of the family to many of her clients. They loved and cared for her as much as she loved and cared for them.
According to her, her kids were her greatest accomplishment. Her son blessed her with three grandchildren that were the apple of her eye. Hunter 18, Alexis 16, and Ethan 12. Her daughter also made her life joyful by filling it with many grand dogs thru the years.
Phyllis had a heart of gold and a loving spirit. She will be missed by those that had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She is also survived by her brother Jack Capps (Jane) of Wilmington NC, and two nieces and three nephews.
A celebration of her life will take place Thursday November 12th, 2020 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, 202 South Fourth Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.
We ask that for the respect and welfare of others to practice social distancing and wearing of a mask if in attendance.
