Benson, NC: Mr. Samuel Braxton “Sammy” Herring, age 48, of Meadowbrook Road died Monday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Friday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Mr. Tony Capps, Mr. Richard Stump and Mr. Brian Dixon. Burial will follow in Reedy Prong Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton Grove, NC.
Mr. Herring was born January 26, 1969 in Harnett County to Sherrill Samuel Herring of Erwin and the late Joyce Massengill Herring. He served as a paramedic for several NC Counties and was also a member of Relief Lodge #431 A.F. & A.M., Benson, NC.
Surviving in addition to his father include, children, Samantha Herring and Braxton Herring both of Erwin; Samantha and Braxton’s mother, Tammy Herring of Erwin; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Tony Capps of Four Oaks; nieces, Teara Roberts and Heather Capps both of Four Oaks and special friend, Jennifer Giddens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Joan H. and Tony Capps, 5659 301 South, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
