Clayton—Wilbur Lemay “Buck” Turner, 86, died at Liberty Commons in Benson on October 9, 2020. Born on October 2, 1934 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Laura Yearby Turner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Johnson Turner, and by his son Jimmy Penny. He was a local farmer and a member of Powhatan Free Will Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at a future date.
Surviving are: son, Timmy Penny of McGee’s Crossroads; grandchildren, Samantha Penny Salazar of McGee’s Crossroads, Lily Penny Carden of Greensboro, Josh Penny of Greensboro/US Air Force, Jennifer Gray of Greensboro; great-grandchildren, Rico Salazar, Gracie Salazar, Emmie Salazar, Maddie Gray, all of Greensboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, 7907 Buck Deans Rd, Middlesex, NC 27557.
