Two men are facing multiple felony charges after they used a debit card from a stolen wallet left inside at Cleveland area business to go on a brief shopping spree.
A 23 year-old Florida man reported back on Oct. 28th his wallet was stolen from a laundry mat in the 40/42 area. A debit card in the wallet was used to make purchases at Wal-Mart, Game Stop, and Murphy’s in the Cleveland area, according to Johnston County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Murphy.
After reviewing video surveillance footages from the businesses, Antwain Lynn Chestnut, 25, and Eddie Jerrod Hester, 25, both of Landmark Road, Willow Spring were arrested Nov. 19th. Both men were charged with obtaining property by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses and financial card theft.
Hester is facing 8 felony offenses and was held under a $100,000 bond. Chestnut is facing 4 felonies and was held under a $100,000 bond.
Lt. Murphy said the investigation was ongoing and additional charges have not been ruled out.
