Partnership For Children Celebrates Pediatric Dentistry Month

Beatriz Garcia and Dara Perez

SELMA –  February is Pediatric Dentistry month and the Partnership for Children is educating parents and caregivers in the community about the importance of oral health for Johnston County’s youngest residents.

February 15th’s Playgroup at the Park showcased activities for children and their caregivers to practice teeth brushing skills. Every participant was provided dental items and educational information, provided by our partners at Clayton Pediatric Dentistry.

In our efforts to ensure the entire Johnston County community has access to the dental materials that are so important to oral health, the Partnership is donating dental items to the Junior Women’s League of Smithfield’s blessings boxes. These blessing boxes are located at 11 different locations, and during the month of February will be filled with donated dental items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a timer to ensure children brush their teeth the full time needed to promote good oral health!
