Police: Drunk Driving Suspect Injures Pregnant Woman In 3 Car Crash

Selma Police arrested a 33 year-old man for driving while impaired and driving on a revoked license following a crash that injured a pregnant woman.

Officers said they responded Friday at 6:34pm to a three vehicle accident on W. Walnut Street at River Road.

According to a police report,  Terry Terrill Walker of S. Green Street, Selma was operating a 2004 Buick LeSabre and failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection striking a 2012 Dodge Avenger operated by Elicia Shante Williams, 31, of River Road, Selma.   The impact forced the Dodge off the roadway into the driveway of a house, where it struck a parked and unoccupied 2004 Buick LeSabre.

Williams, who was pregnant, sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was taken by ambulance to Johnston Health in Smithfield for treatment.

Police said Walker failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test. A search warrant was obtained and Walker was transported to Johnston Health in Smithfield for a blood sample.  Afterwards he was taken to the Johnston County Jail and given a $2,500 bond.

Damage to Walker’s Buick was estimated at $3,000. Damage to the Dodge was placed at $5,000 and damage to the parked Buick owned by Devoria Cummings was estimated at $250.
