Police Seize Thousands Of Fake Viagra Pills

WILSON’S MILLS – Wilson’s Mills Police seized counterfeit Viagra pills with an estimated value of $538,384 during a traffic stop. On Wednesday, November 16th around 3:15pm, police stopped a passenger car on US Highway 70 at Wilson’s Mills Road.

During the traffic stop, Police Chief A.Z. Williams said the officer located approximately 7,000 Viagra tablets, a medication that is illegal to possess without a prescription in the United States.

Working with a special agent from the NC Secretary of State, who assisted with the identification and seizure, it was determined that the boxed pills contained Chinese markings and were likely a counterfeit brand from outside the US being fraudulently made to appear as legitimate Pfizer Viagra.

As a result, the driver, identified as Rahnon Isech Carter, age 43, of Toledo, Ohio, was arrested on several felony charges including possession with intent to sell, manufacture and distribute a controlled substance, criminal use of a counterfeit trademark, and multiple driving violations.

The Wilson’s Mills Police Department will be working in conjunction with the NC Secretary of State on the case and further investigation moving forward. The Johnston County District Attorney’s Office and a member of the DEA Task Force also assisted.

“It’s good when we can work together for a common cause. This was a collaborative effort by multiple agencies that has successfully taken illegal drugs off the streets,” Chief Williams said.

Carter is being held in the Johnston County Detention Center under $40,000 secured bond.

These officers didn’t fall for their story and could tell something was up. Wilson Mills police department keep up the good work.
