Police: Woman Concealed Runaway Juvenile’s Whereabouts

CLAYTON – Clayton Police have arrested a woman who reportedly helped a runaway juvenile avoid authorities and facilitated her transportation across the State line. Angela Marie Warner, 44, of Raleigh was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony child abduction.

On July 30, 2021, Clayton Police responded to a residence on Hamby Street for a missing 16 year-old female juvenile. According to the parents of the missing girl, they believed she left the residence and possibly ran away with her boyfriend.

Police detectives initiated an investigation and on September 13, Clayton Police, with assistance from the US Marshals’ Service, the Johnston County District Attorney’s Office, and Johnston County Child Protective Services, located the missing juvenile in Portland, Oregon where she was placed in protective custody.

Warner is accused of assisting the 16 year-old runaway in leaving the State of North Carolina. Clayton Police allege Warner assisted in concealing the juvenile’s whereabouts and helped facilitate her transportation across State lines. Warner was held in the Johnston County Jail under a $35,000 secured bond.
