Princeton Woman Arrested On 20 Felony Warrants

SELMA – A month long investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office into a fraud case has resulted in the arrest of a Princeton woman. On February 4, 2022, deputies took a report from a 67 year-old Selma woman who said $2,017.70 had been removed from her bank account.

The victim said the theft occurred while she was recovering from surgery. After opening a bank statement, she discovered the missing money.

Authorities allege Shannon Marie Jones, age 38, of Maple Drive, Princeton used the victim’s debit card multiple times at Walmart in Smithfield and Apple without the victim’s knowledge. The victim and suspect reportedly knew one another.

Jones was charged with 10 felony counts of identity theft and 10 felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense. Jones was given a $10,000 secured bond after her March 2nd arrest by deputies.
