A prisoner who had just appeared before a court judge is accused of assaulting and injuring three Johnston County sheriff bailiff’s moments later.
Monday afternoon, Kamarahghi Lashawn Stancil of Campground Road, Selma appeared in court on a probation violation charge. The 23 year-old man was sentenced by a judge to spend 90 days in the county jail.
While the bailiff’s were escorting Stancil to a holding cell behind the courtroom he alleged resisted and during an attempt to subdue the inmate the three officers were injured.
Stancil was charged with three felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer causing serious injury. None of the injuries were life threatening.
