Report: Man Caught On ATM Camera Using Stolen Debit Card

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has filed charged involving the theft of an ATM card later used at the State Employees Credit Union to withdraw cash.  On July 20th, a 39 year-old victim reported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office her debit card had been stolen.

Deputies determined the debit card was used at a local SECU branch to withdraw $100.  The transaction was captured on a security camera at an ATM at the SECU branch.

The suspect was identified as 33 year-old Anthony Bryan Peedin of Pittman Road, Selma.  Peedin was arrested by deputies at his home on July 23rd and charged with two felonies: financial card theft and obtaining property by false pretenses.  Peedin was incarcerated in the Johnston County Jail on a $30,000 secured bond.
