Report: Store Employee Stole Merchandise

A stockroom employee at a Smithfield business is accused of stealing clothing items from her employer. Police said the theft occurred at Burke’s Outlet at 1229 N. Brightleaf Boulevard.

On April 22nd, police were dispatched to the business after asset protection staff at Burke’s reported an employee had allegedly been caught leaving the business without paying for merchandise. The allegedly thefts totaled $904.99 in stolen clothing.

Jodie Ann Feuchter, 41, of Campground Road, Selma was charged by Smithfield Police with felony larceny by an employee. She was also served with a failure to appear citation for a missed November 2020 court appearance in Wayne County. Feuchter was held on $30,500 bail.
