Reward Offered For Return Of Stolen Farm Truck

A local farmer is asking for assistance locating a farm truck stolen from a field near Smithfield.

On June 10th around 7:45pm, the truck was stolen from a field at the end of Dupree Road. It was last seen by a neighbor being driven towards Smithfield. The neighbor did not realize at the time the truck had just been stolen. They were unable to give a description of the driver.

The truck is owned by JW Hughes Farms of Smithfield. Timmy Hughes said the two-ton 1969 Chevy C50 had a 1600 gallon black water tank attached to the bed. The truck has NC license plate YE-3638.

Mr. Hughes said if the truck is returned unharmed he will pay a $2,500 reward.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the stolen farm truck is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 919-989-5000.
