Rocking Chair Bandit Arrested

Earlier today (Tuesday), the Nash County Sheriff’s Office responded to several calls from concerned citizens reporting an individual had stolen rocking chairs off the porches of two Middlesex homes and they were following the suspect.

Durwood Wayne Joyner was later found in the parking lot of the Spring Hope Food Lion and taken into custody without incident.

Joyner was charged with two counts on misdemeanor larceny for the 4 stolen rocking chairs. Joyner was served warrants taken out by officers of the Rocky Mount Police for two counts of breaking and entering motor vehicles, two counts of larceny, and one count of felony larceny.   Joyner was confined in the Nash County Detention Center under a $65,000 bond.
