SAFE Team Deputy Arrests Driver For Meth Possession

SMITHFIELD – A SAFE Team deputy with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver of a car stopped for a traffic violation Tuesday morning.

Kristy Michelle Blackman, 31, of Bakers Chapel Road, Smithfield was charged with felony possession of methamphetamines following an 11:48am traffic stop in the 6400 block of Brogden Road

During the traffic stop, suspected crystal methamphetamine was reportedly found in her wallet.  Officers also seized a marijuana smoking pipe, marijuana grinder and marijuana residue they located inside the vehicle.

Blackman was taken before a criminal magistrate and given a $2,500 secured bond.
