Search Of Home Leads To Arrest Of Benson Couple

A Benson couple landed in jail after a search of their home Wednesday by NC probation and parole officers and sheriff’s deputies.

Parole officers asked deputies to assist in a random search at the home of 22 year-old Cody James Estep of Barberry Drive, who was currently on probation.  During the warrantless search, a condition of his probation, the following items were located in the home cocaine, marijuana and a stolen firearm.

Estep was charged with three felony and one misdemeanor drug offenses in addition to a felony charge of possession of a stolen gun.  He was jailed under a $50,000 bond.

Kelly Olivia Springer, 19, of the same address, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $500 bond.
